Jan 22, 2012 · Following is an outline as to how to configure a Cisco ASA 5505 for an SBS 2008/2011 network, including basic router configurations, IP addressing, and port forwarding, using the GUI/ASDM. The ASDM version used at the time of writing is 6.4(5), and ASA Version 8.2(5). For the record this can be accomplished much more easily… Aside from the lack of WiFi, QoS (and apparently DNS!) the ASA 5505 does practically everything I need, in addition to supporting multiple VPN connections a lot better than the average SOHO "router". This will allow you authenticate with a local user account on the ASA while connection through SSH. I have not tested this authenticating it against Active Directory, but I would imagine you can do this by setting up a AAA group and selected it instead of the LOCAL group. At the time of writing my ASA was running 8.2(1) and ASDM 6.2(1). Each VPN gateway in the VPN community that requires DPD monitoring must be configured with the tunnel_keepalive_method property, including any 3rd party VPN gateway. You cannot configure different monitoring mechanisms for the same gateway. Dec 21, 2010 · Hi, I am trying to get domain users to authenticate to my network via Active directory but i cannot get this running. local user accounts on the ASA are working fine.
