How Can I Tell If a Wireless Network Adapter is Connected
Every time I do ipconfig release/renew command I keep getting: No operation can be performed on Ethernet while it has its media disconnected.No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection* 2 while it has its media disconnected. Those commands when "Ipconfig says media disconnected" - I finally resolved this problem when my 2nd PC (Win-XP-based) could not connect to the Web, despite the presence of an IP address, and assurance from the Wireless Manager that I WAS connected. Hi, I'm at a loss. I'm trying to figure out why my computer is saying this. I do know that our ethernet connection is messed up in our main computer so we are only using our wireless connection on our laptops, our desktop computer is not connected. Check the settings of your adapter to see if the radio module on the device is OFF, almoust all of the adapters have this function. Make it stay on all the time. This is the most possible reason to get a media disconnected message from a wireless adapter. Are you shure that media disconnected message comes from your wireless adapter?
